I hope winter ends soon. I used to love it, but now it's all about dry hands, cracked skin and having lost 23% of my body weight, I'm always. friggin. cold.

Spent the first 3.5 hours of Family Day 2021 on this cross-stitch project with John. It was a bit frustrating at first, mostly because I have never done this sort of thing before. Now I have all sorts of ideas in my head... 🐳

This photoshoot with Franz was John's idea - and I once again had some help with the processing. Thank you John! 😃

Another day, another unique landscape found at the beach. Today's journey was a cold one but we made it all the way down to Nikki's favourite tree which looked like it was wrapped in a towel, as John put it.

The tulips are made of wood, so they'll last forever. The daisies don't know this and are trying to keep up... they've been hanging on for a good 3 weeks at least.

I call it the Fizzbush anyway. Others call it a Boxwood Tree. It's actually not a fizz... it's more like a crackle. In the spring time if you put your ear up to this tree/shrub, you'll hear it crackling. That is because of the late-stage larvae of the boxwood leafminer ravenously feasting on the leaves. Google it! Fascinating stuff.

It feels like -12C today, so we put extra layers on and had a blast in the backyard. This blue spruce is by the entrance of the backyard, and will probably have to be relocated next year as it's getting too big and is now blocking vehicle access to the back.

We bought John a set of 16 books by Roald Dahl recently. He read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory first and insisted that I read it as well. (I'd like to remind you that he's 6.)
So I was today-years-old when I finished reading it for the first time ever in my life. Talk about missing out. What an exceptionally well-written book.
I have now made it a goal for this year to read the other 15 books as well.
John wanted to take the photo for today's post. I also asked for his input on what the title should be.

Went for a beach walk after work today with the family. You can't tell by this photo but it was +7C.

Oh how I've missed the cheesy puns of titling my photoblog posts. Today I started my new job. It felt much like the old job, but the week is still young I guess. 😄
